In a heartfelt announcement, Dan Cole, a beloved figure at Leicester Tigers, will be departing from the club after an impressive 18-year tenure due to personal reasons.
At 38 years old, Cole's journey with the Tigers began in 2007 and continued until 2025, during which he not only showcased his exceptional skills as a prop but also transitioned into a pivotal role as the recruitment and retention manager after retiring from playing. With over 340 appearances for the Tigers, he shattered the record for league appearances in the 2023-24 season, solidifying his place in the club's history.
"It is with a heavy heart that I leave the Tigers," Cole expressed. "This club has been my life, and representing its emblem has been a true honor. Sadly, due to changes in my personal life, I find that I cannot dedicate the necessary focus to my role moving forward, so I must step aside."
He confidently added, "I am certain that the club is positioned well for success in 2026 and beyond, and I wish Geoff, the players, and everyone associated with Mattioli Woods Welford Road all the best in their future endeavors."
Born in Leicester, Cole enjoyed tremendous success during his time at Welford Road, clinching four Premiership titles.
