Affiliate Disclosure

How we make money.

Honest disclosure about affiliate relationships, sponsored content, and how we keep editorial independence. Last updated 2026-05-25.

The short version

Real Estate Tech Coach makes money in two ways: affiliate commissions on tools we recommend, and (eventually) paid coaching products. We do not sell ads, we do not run sponsored content disguised as editorial, and we do not rank tools by commission rate.

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a special URL that tells the destination provider (e.g., a CRM company) that you arrived from our site. If you sign up or purchase, we receive a small commission. You pay the same price you would have paid going directly. This is how publishers like Wirecutter, NerdWallet, and most legitimate review sites fund their work.

Which links are affiliate links?

We mark affiliate relationships in three places: (1) inside articles where the link appears, (2) in our tool comparison and review pages, and (3) here. Not every external link is an affiliate link — only links to specific tools we have partnered with.

Tools we currently or may earn commission from:

  • CRMs: Follow Up Boss, Lofty, kvCore, Sierra Interactive
  • IDX & websites: Real Geeks, Placester, kvCore
  • AI tools: ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, Virtual Staging AI, Catalyze AI, SmartZip
  • Transaction management: Dotloop, Skyslope, Brokermint
  • Email & newsletters: Beehiiv, ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign
  • Other: Mojo Dialer, RedX, Vulcan7, Cloud CMA

How rankings work

Our reviews and “best of” rankings reflect our honest assessment of each tool’s value for real estate agents, not the commission rate we earn. We frequently recommend tools that pay us less (or nothing) when they are the better fit. When we recommend a tool that pays a higher commission, it is because we actually believe it is the right product.

What we will never do

  • Take payment to write a positive review
  • Hide affiliate relationships
  • Recommend a tool we have not personally tested
  • Bury negative findings to protect a commercial relationship
  • Sell email lists or share subscriber data with affiliate partners

Editorial independence

Our rankings and reviews are written and edited independently of affiliate relationships. Marcus Chen, Sarah Whitman, and the RETC Editorial team operate under an editorial policy that prohibits commercial influence over content decisions. If we get something wrong, we issue corrections publicly and update the article.

Sponsored content

We may occasionally publish clearly labeled sponsored content. When we do, the label “SPONSORED” appears prominently at the top of the post. Sponsored content does not affect our editorial rankings of competing tools.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided to comply with the FTC’s “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising” (16 CFR Part 255). If you spot a tool recommendation that you believe should carry an affiliate disclosure and does not, email editorial@realestatetechcoach.com.
